Who Knew? is a modified Summer Ag Institute. There will not be a Summer Ag Institute held in Rock Island County this year. There is also no graduate credit available for Who Knew?
Who Knew? will help pre-K-12 grade teachers integrate instruction about the food and fiber industry into their present curriculum. Activities each day include field trips to local production plants, local farms, or other agribusiness operations. Participants will also learn about agriculture, the food and fiber system, consumer issues relating to agriculture, teaching innovations and available teaching resources. Apply what you learn in new and unique classroom lessons for easy integration into YOUR curriculum.
The sessions provide elementary and secondary teachers a better understanding of the complexity, scope, and scale of Illinois agriculture, its impact on each person's life and on the economy of Illinois and the nation.
The course fee is $10/day (lunch provided). If you register for all three days the fee is $25 (must register for all three at the same time.) For more information about the course, contact the Rock Island County Farm Bureau at (309) 736-7432.
Registration at: https://web.extension.illinois.edu/registration/default.cfm?RegistrationID=16266
Registration Opens on March 15! Deadline to register: May 31, 2017.
